HAYWOOD COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) reports that part of I-40 is closed after a crash early Sunday.
NCDOT officials said that I-40 west is closed near the Tennessee state line at Exit 7, Cold Springs Creek Road, after a crash was reported around 5 a.m.
Troopers with the North Carolina Highway Patrol (NCHP) reported that a truck towing a tractor-trailer was traveling west when it ran off the right side of the highway and overturned over a concrete barrier. As of 12:49 p.m., the truck and the tractor-trailer were retrieved from over the barrier. No injuries were reported.
