Kenneth Lamont McNeil, 47, died in custody at the Durham County Detention Facility on December 6, 2025. McNeil, a Durham resident, had been held since March 15, 2025. He faced 12 failure to appear charges from 2023, including breaking and entering, larceny, and assault. In November, he was indicted on more charges of breaking and entering and larceny.
