Green St. to close for annual parade Sunday afternoon

The City of Gainesville’s annual Christmas on Green Street returns Sunday at 2 p.m., with road closures to begin at 12 p.m.

The city shared in a social media post that historic Green Street from Spring Street to Enota Avenue NE will be closed for the celebration until 7 p.m. The event will feature food trucks, Christmas activities, and the annual Christmas parade, beginning at 4 p.m. The celebration will conclude with the Lighting of the Rotary Tree at around 5:30 p.m.

City officials said they expect thousands at the event. Free parking near the event is available at the following parking decks, all within walking distance from the celebration: Gainesville North Parking Deck, 100 Brenau Ave.; Hall County Parking Facility, 225 Green St.; and Main Street Parking Deck, 301 Main St. Parking will also be available at Gainesville City Park on Glenwood Drive NE…
