Broncos Fall in Round One of Top Ten Battle

Western Michigan fell to Minnesota Duluth 4-1 on Friday night, to move WMU to 9-6-0 overall and 5-4-0 in the NCHC.

The Broncos played even with Duluth in five-on-five, but three power play goals proved too much for Western Michigan to overcome.

Both teams came out of the gate ripping hot. Both sides had great scoring chances but some impressive saves from both Hampton Slukynsky and Adam Gajan kept the game gridlocked at zero. However, around 13 minutes into the period, a Gajan save led to the Bulldogs controlling the puck. Brady Cleveland slid a pass through the defense to find a streaking Grayden Siepmann to put UMD on the board first. The score remained there as the period ran out…
