Mobile community hears firsthand account from Holocaust survivor

Sami Steigmann was born in 1939 in what is now Ukraine. As a toddler he was imprisoned with his parents in a Romanian labor camp during World War II. Too young to understand what was happening but old enough to bear the lifelong effects.

“If you ask any survivor, how come you’re alive today? Everybody will say luck,” said Steigmann.

Steigmann says because he was a toddler and couldn’t work he was used in Nazi medical experiments…
