In Sanford, Florida, a police officer rescued an unconscious dog from a family’s burning home this past week. The officer administered oxygen and gave the dog water as the dog slowly started to breathe on his own.
According to the Sanford Police Department, the fire had started early Tuesday morning when officers responded along with the Sanford Fire Department and Seminole County Fire Department. All adults and children were safely evacuated from the burning home.
After learning that the family dog was still inside, Officer Pagan went into the home and located the dog that appeared lifeless from smoke inhalation. Officer Pagan quickly acted and pulled the dog and its kennel out of the home. Along with Officer Diaz, the kennel with the dog inside was brought to a safe area where Officer Pagan provided further aid.
Officer Pagan cooled, oxygenate and revived the motionless husky. After about 30 minutes of Officer Pagan treating the dog, the dog began holding its head up on it’s own. The family was relieved as they recognized their dog would likely survive.
No doubt, Officer Pagan is an animal lover. His words to the family were so heartfelt, and they were all so grateful.
‘Dogs are family,’and we couldn’t agree more. Thank you, Officer Pagan, for saving this beloved family member!…
