ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Moisture returns tonight as an upper-level disturbance crosses the region. With temperatures dropping below freezing, accumulating snowfall arrives into the day tomorrow. A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect tonight through 1 AM Tuesday as snow impacts are increasingly likely with slick spots on the roads. Where heavier snow could set up, a Winter Storm Warning will be in effect from 5 AM to 5 PM.
In general, around 1-3″ of snowfall is expected with locally higher amounts possible. Totals of around 3-5″ will be possible for portions of the Roanoke Valley and Central Virginia.
