(FORT COLLINS, Colo) — Palmer Ridge’s 13-game winning streak comes to an end in the 4A State Championship as the Bears lose 38-14 to the Dakota Ridge Eagles. Both teams came into Saturday’s, Dec. 6, contest with unblemished resumes. The Eagles ranked the top team in the 4A ranks while the Bears were seeded third in the tournament.
The Eagles put the first points on the board on their opening possession. The Bears moved the ball on their first possession, featuring a fourth-down fake punt conversion. But the drive stalled on a Dakota Ridge interception from Jack Offerdahl. The next play, the Eagles threw an 85-yard touchdown pass to expand their lead.
Dakota Ridge would take a 21-0 lead into the second quarter before Palmer Ridge finally scored when Cole Harris connected with Eli Stewart for a touchdown.
