Paddler rescued off the shore of Hanauma Bay

HAWAIʻI KAI (KHON2) — This morning, Dec. 7, Honolulu Ocean Safety rescued a female paddler off the shore of Hanauma Bay.

Around 10:40 a.m., a female paddler, who appeared to be in her teens, was out about 100 yards off the shore of Hanauma Bay when she became severely seasick, Ocean Safety said.

Honolulu Ocean Safety was alerted to the distressed paddler. An Ocean Safety Rescue Operator quickly got into the water and made contact with the paddler.

Ocean Safety transported her to a shore tower in Hanauma Bay, where she received immediate treatment from the Honolulu Fire Department, according to officials…
