KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Mothers from across Knoxville came together this weekend for an annual wreath-making event designed to honor children lost and provide support for families living with grief.
The 10th Annual Wreath Event, hosted by Moms Demand Action and held at the Emerald Youth Haslam-Sansom Ministry Complex, brings families into one room to decorate wreaths, share stories and lean on one another during the holiday season.

Terry Walker-Smith, who has lost both of her sons, said the event is about more than one night of remembrance.
“You don’t get over it, I mean, you never get over it, and you always need that kind of support,” she said. “I always say, and this is something that I’ve said over and over. You know, I didn’t need people sitting on the front row at my son’s funeral. I needed them, but I needed you afterwards as well.”…
