Two bids to purchase the Santa Rosa County Courthouse were submitted ahead of the 10 a.m. deadline of Dec. 5, but they arrived after a decision had been made to push the submittal deadline back a month to Jan. 5.
The latest deadline had been extended to give prospective developers of the property a full 90 days from the publishing of a request for proposals because no bids had been received as of Dec. 4, according to county spokesperson Brittany Ellers.
The county is offering for sale the 36,173-square-foot building along with the 1.9 acres of land it rests upon. Along with that land would go three parcels totaling approximately 1.65 acres on the block behind the courthouse.
