When the New Balance Numeric Tom Knox 600 x Krooked dropped last week, I mentioned the simple fact that NB# has had no shortage of bangin’ collabs this year, and the hits just keep on coming.
Baton Rouge, Louisiana’s finest, Ruckus Skateshop joined forces with Numeric on a brand new ‘Mallard Duck’ 480 and the initial response has been nothing but positive. They’re bold, colorful and ready to rip. Another must-have 480, if you ask me. Take a look:

At this point, the 480 just seems like the go-to collab silhouette, and for good reason—it’s just a solid skate shoe. No bull. No gimmicks. There’s a reason why more than a handful of skateshops have reimagined the shoe. Reynolds had a colorway early on. Jamie Foy got one. Bronze56K put their spin on them. Chocolate did their thing. The list goes on.
The 480 is a staple in the New Balance Numeric line and continues to deliver season after season. Like most shop collabs, the Rukus Mallard Duck will be available at first in-store and on the Rukus site—they did an exclusive pop-up over the weekend as well—but I have a feeling NB# will do a broader release at select shops shortly after…
