After a cloudy end to the weekend, the skies are set to clear up on Monday, and the unseasonably warm temperatures are here to stay. The high-pressure system brings a predicted high of 58 degrees to start the work week, coupled with calm winds in Truckee Meadows.
The National Weather Service says northern Nevada is currently seeing temperatures 15 to 20 degrees higher than normal for this time of the year. The average high for Dec. 8 in Reno is 48 degrees.
Similar conditions are expected in South Lake Tahoe for Monday, with sunny skies, calm winds, and a high of 56 degrees predicted for the area.
