FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The City of Fort Wayne has received four proposals from nonprofits to operate its upcoming Homeless Services Center. This center is set to be a pivotal hub for services to assist people experiencing homelessness.
City spokesperson Mary Tyndall said the city received “four responses” to their request for proposals, which closed on Friday, December 5. A selection committee will score these applications, though the city has not yet determined when they will choose an operator or announce the winner.
The Homeless Services Center, managed by the Office of Housing & Neighborhood Services, aims to house multiple programs under one roof. This includes a 24/7 low-barrier day shelter and a safe parking program for those living in their cars.
