FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WALA) – It was a very special day for one Fairhope woman and her family. Henrietta Daughtry celebrated her 103rd birthday Monday, Dec. 8, 2025. at her home, where she was surrounded by much of that family.
Born in Thomasville, Daughtry was raised in Fairhope before heading off to Pittsburg at the age of 18. She spent 50 years there before returning to Fairhope to be with her mother and older sister in the 1980s. It’s been home since.
Inside the home where she still lives without air conditioning and by herself, several of her youngest relatives shares her special day with her.
“People have been great to me. They’ve been good to me. I don’t provide for them. If I have to do something for one of them, I do for all. I do whatever for all of them,” Daughtry said. “I got favorites, I guess. I got a couple of favorites.”…
