UNM receives $2.5M grant to expand resident physician training in street medicine

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) –  The University of New Mexico Office for Community Health has received a federal grant to train more resident physicians in street medicine, which brings care right to where patients live: on the streets, in shelters, or in temporary housing sites.

The five-year $2.5 million grant was awarded by the Health Resources and Services Administration, a federal agency that supports health care for geographically isolated, vulnerable people.
