Casa del Rey closes after one year under new ownership

About a year after reopening, Casa del Rey is closed again.

A sign on the door of the Mexican restaurant at 901 W. Russell St. reads: “Closed until further notice. Sorry for the inconvenience.”

Casa del Rey has served Sioux Falls since 1980. Former owner Cory O’Brien closed it in the summer of 2024 and then quickly sold the business to the Eining family, longtime restaurateurs who also own and operate The Original Pancake House and Josiah’s Coffeehouse, Cafe & Bakery…
