Free Dog Adoptions for Local Residents at Maricopa County Shelters Dec. 8-14

Maricopa County Animal Care & Control (MCACC) will partner with Hill’s Pet Nutrition for an adoption campaign from December 8 to 14, 2025. The event is part of Hill’s ‘Sweet 16 Million Adoptions Celebration.’ This campaign recognizes 16 million pet adoptions supported by the Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love program since 2002. The program offers discounted pet food to over 1,000 animal shelters in North America, including MCACC in the Phoenix area.

During the campaign, Hill’s will provide up to $200,000 to help cover adoption fees at selected shelters in the United States and Canada. At MCACC, adoption fees will be waived for dogs six months and older. Adopters will receive a New Pet Parent Kit from Hill’s. The kit includes a starter bag of Hill’s Science Diet, a coupon, and post-adoption tips.

The event will be held at all three MCACC locations: the West Shelter in Phoenix, the East Shelter in Mesa, and the Everyday Adoption Center in Scottsdale. The campaign aims to help shelter pets find homes during the holiday season and highlight the Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love program…
