Alexandria public housing residents demand answers amid ARHA controversy

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — Residents living in Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority (ARHA) units say they are dealing with mold, infestations and unsafe living conditions as the agency faces growing controversy and leadership upheaval.

The turmoil escalated after ARHA fired its former CEO, Erik Johnson, who was discovered living in one of the agency’s affordable housing units. Johnson was later terminated and filed suit. The nine-member ARHA board resigned shortly after.
