At the Carson Animal Shelter in California, Payo (A5736378) and his brother Manchas (A5736384) were surrendered to the shelter. Two year old Payo is really missing his brother and his family. The 45-pound Boxer blend really needs our help. His life may soon end because no one has reached out to adopt him, and the shelter is overcrowded.
A5736378(altered) Payo’s shelter evaluation as of November 5, 2025: (Highlights)
“Payo had a tense timid demeanor and required a slow approach to be removed from the kennel. Payo was taken to the catch pen and was collared and leashed using a slow approach. He greeted the dogs at the barrier with a neutral demeanor and was allowed into the play yard. Payo displayed a tense body, closed mouth, ears back, low tail, and soft eyes. Payo allowed the dogs to sniff him but appeared uncomfortable…Payo did find found another calm dog in the yard, and they explored together… When near the handlers, Payo appeared interested in interacting but moved away when the handlers coaxed him over… He preferred to be among calm dogs… Payo could benefit from confidence building and further socialization.”…
