BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A Battle Creek school will be closed Tuesday after a student had a deadly medical emergency during class, the district said.
It happened Monday during a physical education class at Northwestern Academy of Visual & Performing Arts, according to Battle Creek Public Schools. After having a medical emergency and being taken to the hospital, the student died. The name of the student was not shared by the district.
Northwestern Academy of Visual & Performing Arts will be closed Tuesday. Grief counselors and support staff will be at the school to help students, staff and families. Drop-ins are available at the school between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Lunch will be provided between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., the district said…
