Kentucky woman freed 23 years after plotting mother’s stabbing death

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Kentucky woman was released from prison on Tuesday after serving 20 years for her role in the stabbing death of her mother.

It happened in Scott County in June 2002. According to court documents, Diane Snellen was found stabbed to death in her Georgetown home.

At trial, witnesses testified that Snellen had a troubled relationship with her daughter, Stephanie Olsen, who was 17 at the time. Olsen has reportedly made multiple comments about hating her mother, wanting her dead, and wishing she or someone else would kill her.
