Monday’s snowfall is accompanied by plummeting temps, overnight freeze

Snow continues to fall across most of Central and Southeastern Virginia, and with temperatures plummeting into the teens in the overnight hours, anything that falls today is expected to freeze over − and that means driving could be tricky during the morning commute.

At least two inches of snow had fallen across Central Virginia, the Virginia Department of Transportation posted on its X account Dec. 8. Forecasts call for about another 2-4 inches before it tapers off in the evening.

Snowplows are busily clearing the major traffic arteries of snow and slush for the evening commute, but with the snow continuing to fall, crews are trying to keep up with the clearing…
