Community leaders plead for mercy as Tennessee prepares to execute convicted killer Harold Nichols

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man on death row is scheduled to be executed this week.

Harold Nichols was convicted of raping and killing a woman in her early 20s more than 30 years ago. On Monday, several different community groups came together to ask Governor Bill Lee to stop the execution.

Karen Pulley was described as a gentle spirit, but her life was cut short in 1988. In 2020, News 2 spoke to her sister, Lisette Monroe.
