Local Couple Raises Concerns Over East Village Parking Citation Incident Caught on Tesla Video

A San Diego couple claims that a parking enforcement officer issued a citation in the East Village neighborhood, then retracted it after learning their Tesla had recorded the incident. The event occurred on December 6, 2025, near Izola Bakery at 1429 Island Avenue. The couple parked around 12:30 p.m. and paid for parking before entering the bakery.

According to Vanessa, the driver, the officer approached their vehicle about 20 minutes later, marked the tire with chalk, and began writing a ticket for exceeding the two-hour parking limit. The Tesla’s Sentry Mode recorded the officer marking the tire and issuing the citation, even though the car had been parked for less than 30 minutes.

The couple told the officer that the incident was recorded. The officer then took back the ticket and said he would ask his supervisor to cancel it. The couple provided screenshots and timestamps to show they had not exceeded the parking limit…
