The Palm Beach Code Enforcement Board has hit a property owner with over $600 in fines and administrative fees after landscapers “butchered” two trees that are part of the town’s Historic and Specimen Tree Program.
The board voted unanimously to levy a $500 fine and $150 administrative fee against the property owner of the estate at 175 Via Palma and directed the owner to work with the town to remediate the violation.
During the Nov. 20 meeting, code officer John Moriarty said a complaint was filed on Sept. 23 by the Public Works Department after an inspector came across the heavily trimmed Mastic tree and Purple Trumpet tree on the estate at 175 Via Palma…
