A reported theft at The Galleria on Monday spiraled into a dramatic chase off mall property, ending at a gas station on Westheimer near Chimney Rock, where multiple people were arrested. Witnesses said officers and security swept through the crowded Uptown complex as the pursuit spilled onto the busy roadway, briefly disrupting evening shopping and leaving parts of the mall interior in disarray.
According to KHOU, Houston Police said the suspects ran from a theft inside the mall and were chased by officers down Westheimer. The pursuit wrapped up at a nearby gas station close to Chimney Rock, where several suspects were taken into custody.
