Kansas City’s Office of Language Access preparing for World Cup

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City’s Office of Language Access is working to ensure those coming to town for the World Cup feel welcome. It’s estimated around 650,000 will be flocking to the metro for the matches played next summer.

“We are working with city departments to make sure that signage, all the public safety information, vital information on the web,” said Leidy Quitián Varón, a language access manager. “We just put a translation widget on the city website to make it accessible in multiple languages. Everything is moving towards that.”
