BOUNTIFUL, Utah (KUTV) — Charges were filed against a father who took his 5-year-old child he did not have custody of to prevent scheduled surgery.
The father, identified as 45-year-old Benjamin Despain, was charged with custodial interference, a Class B misdemeanor, according to court documents.
A protective order was also filed on Tuesday against Despain.
