Two incidents of shoplifting shook the South End neighborhood yesterday, as Boston Police worked swiftly to apprehend the culprits involved in thefts at Newbury Street and the Prudential Mall. Officers from District D-4 responded to both reports, leading to two arrests on charges of shoplifting and larceny.
According to a press release from the Boston Police Department, the first suspect, Kyle Brown, 41, of Boston, was spotted near 186 Commonwealth Avenue after Boston Police Operations broadcasted a description of two individuals seen hastily to leave the scene at 200 Newbury Street. Brown was found with two jackets, tags still on, cunningly hidden behind a flower pot on Exeter Street. He has been charged with Larceny under $1,200 and will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
The second incident took place at the Prudential Mall’s Lululemon Store, where officers caught Justin Webb, 39, of Weymouth, amid an attempted theft.
