Man dies in hospital over a week after crash in south Charlotte: CMPD

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man has died nearly two weeks after crashing into a tree in south Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Around 2:45 p.m. on November 17, officers responded to a crash on the 4200 block of Sharon View Road. When they arrived, they found a Honda SUV off to the left of the roadway.

The driver, 85-year-old John Joseph McLaughlin, was in the driver’s seat, alert and conscious, but was taken to a local hospital for injuries to his head, officials said. On November 29, McLaughlin was pronounced dead in the hospital…
