According to Vermaak, Kahn was an Afghan physician working with the US military for 12 years and he and his wife were vetted by the US and placed in Erie a few years ago.
The couple went through the organization’s application process, will make payments for the next 25 years, and put in 300 hours of work or sweat equity in the construction of their home and other homes…
