RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Fayetteville Fire Department is stressing fire safety as the frigid temperatures settle in the area.
Many fires happen during the winter months. Firefighters told us there have been 33 fires in Fayetteville since the beginning of November. In some cases, people left heating sources unattended. They say many times these cold weather-related fires can be avoided by taking simple steps.
“If you’re using a fireplace or a small heater, you want to make sure you’re present. If you’re going to leave, turn them off.
