FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A bill in Indiana that would allow the Rising Star Casino to relocate from southern Indiana to Allen County has drawn support from Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker, who testified at a committee hearing Tuesday.
The mayor said she and some other leaders believe “a Miami Tribe casino is being planned for some point in the future in our community.” Tucker said she would rather have a state-licensed casino to bring in more tax revenue.
“It is my belief and my feeling that if there is going to be a gaming expansion, or gaming relocation in the State of Indiana, to Northeast Indiana, Allen County and specifically the city of Fort Wayne, that that is a state-controlled, a city-controlled opportunity for us to take advantage of,” she said…
