A Polk County Fire Rescue paramedic and a patient in an ambulance were left in critical condition after a crash involving an ambulance and a pickup truck the evening of Dec. 8.
The crash happened about 8:30 p.m. , at U.S. 27 and Lucerne Park Road (SR 544) in Winter Haven, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. The Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide unit is investigating the crash between the ambulance and a Ford F450 pickup because the two people in critical condition, according to information released by both agencies.
