LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — Arkansas health officials are reporting an early rise in RSV and other respiratory viruses as families prepare for holiday gatherings. Physicians at UAMS said they’re tracking a steady increase in RSV and influenza statewide, a trend that typically peaks later in the winter.
“We’re seeing data that shows that we’re seeing increasing emergency department utilization for both influenza and RSV right now in the state of Arkansas,” said Dr. Robert Hopkins, UAMS professor and chief of internal medicine and pediatrics.
