Tualatin River National Wildlife refuge considering levying fee on groups, guides

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service soliciting comment through end of December

If you or your business regularly guides tours or hold workshops at the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, a federal agency would like a word.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced recently that it is seeking comment on a proposal to begin charging fees for group permits at the refuge.

“The proposed fee change only affects any person or business that charges or includes a fee for guiding on the refuge, including guided tours, guided workshops (such as art or photography),” a release said, adding that the fee would not apply to the general public, which can enjoy the refuge for free…
