Spokane City Council debates $1 million funding reallocation for emergency shelters

SPOKANE, Wash. – Members of the Spokane City Council are deliberating on a potential change in how the city will fund emergency shelters in 2026.

Councilman Jonathan Bingle brought attention to the 1590 funds, which are generated from a 0.1 percent sales tax dedicated to affordable housing and supportive services.
