HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The first cochlear implant procedure in North Alabama has been performed at Crestwood Medical Center, hospital officials said on Tuesday.
The procedure was done at the hospital by Dr. Sabina Dang, an ENT specialist with Huntsville Ear, Nose & Throat Physicians, P.C. Dang is an independent member of Crestwood’s medical staff.
In the past, North Alabama patients who needed cochlear implants had to travel to Birmingham or Nashville, something that posed challenges for elderly or mobility-limited patients…
