Woman claims she did not know about $111 worth of skip-scanned items at Walmart

A Leesburg woman will appear in court next week for skip-scanning $111 clothes and food-related items at Walmart.

Loss prevention associates of Walmart, located at 2501 Citrus Blvd., saw 66-year-old Cheryl Marie Lafaive skip-scanning merchandise on security cameras around 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, according to a case report from the Leesburg Police Department.

She put all of the items in her shopping cart and paid only for what she scanned. She then pushed the cart out of the store where she was stopped with $111.23 of stolen merchandise by loss prevention. These items included fleece tops and pants, paper plates, croutons, butter, lunchmeat, Lifesavers, bread, Kleenex, shrimp and Coca-Cola, the report said…
