There have been several recent food recalls due to concerns about salmonella contamination. One of the latest announcements comes from a major farm in California.

Last Friday, Dec. 5, Vega Farms in Dixon, Calif. recalled more than 1,500 eggs due to possible salmonella exposure. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) confirmed the recall.

What to know

The recall covers 12-count cartons and 30-count flats of eggs with the “Sell By” dates of Dec. 22, 2025 and prior and Julian dates of 328 and prior.

The eggs, which also contain the handler code 2136, have been distributed throughout the Sacramento and Davis areas, including to restaurants and farmers markets…
