Suspected Hit-and-Run Driver From Sacramento Nabbed in Las Vegas After Fatal Collision

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that a 29-year-old man, Jeffrey Diedenhofen, was hit and killed by a 2016 BMW X5 on May 30 at West Flamingo Road and South Las Vegas Boulevard. The collision, captured by witnesses and surveillance video, marked the 70th traffic-related fatality in the area for 2025, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Authorities later identified and arrested the driver, 37-year-old Stephon Watkins of Sacramento, who now faces Hit and Run and Reckless Driving charges.
