CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – A critically endangered whale has been spotted off the coast of Carolina Beach, according to Oceana.
The North Atlantic right whale was spotted approximately 250 yards from shore on Monday, Dec. 8.
“The population is critically low, with only about 384 individuals remaining,” Oceana said. “These whales are currently migrating south to their calving grounds, potentially offering a unique chance for safe, land-based viewing.”…
