An early look-ahead to the Christmas week forecast

COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) — While it’s still too early for specifics on the Christmas week forecast, long range models are providing us some hints on what to expect.

Even though December has begun colder than average, both the European and American GFS forecast models project the pattern will favor temperatures at least near average if not slightly warmer than average in the days leading up to the holiday.

For perspective, Columbia’s average high on Christmas is 57 degrees while the average low is 35.

The most likely scenario is for highs to be in the 50s and 60s most of the holiday week…
