HILLSBORO, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Four area nursing schools received six-figure grants this week to help address a critical shortage of nurses in Missouri and Illinois.
The grants will allow nursing schools to hire more instructors and purchase new simulators that provide hands-on training for students.
Jefferson College in Hillsboro received a $125,000 grant that will be used to buy new human-like simulators and train instructors on how to use them. The simulators can give birth, suffer seizures, receive blood infusions and simulate many symptoms…
