A new paid parking system at a San Antonio attraction has residents reminiscing over when the only money you spent to visit local sites was when you were inside the actual sites. Several locals also expressed frustration that the policy is being implemented during the holiday season, when budgets are particularly tight.
The Shops at La Cantera is charging a fee for select spaces at the center, according to its website. These “Preferred Paid Parking” slots are located near restaurants on both the east and south sides of the mall.
This area is managed by 12 Oaks Parking Services. Its website says visitors who choose these spaces must pay $2.45 for 0 to 1 hour. The cost rises by $2 per hour and second hour. Anything over four hours will run folks $10.45…
