SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Marco Denis, the former owner of Springfield’s Plaza Towers, has pleaded guilty in federal court to illegal possession of a firearm and tax fraud.
Denis, who faces state charges of first-degree domestic assault and first-degree kidnapping charges after being accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend in July 2024, entered the plea Monday, Dec. 8, 2025.
According to the federal plea agreement, Denis admitted to being a domestic violence misdemeanant in possession of a firearm and filing a false tax return. He faces up to 15 years in prison for illegal possession of a firearm and up to three years for filing a false tax return…
