Driver charged after stolen vehicle pursuit ends with 2 injured in Fishersville

FISHERSVILLE, Va. (WHSV) – A Staunton man was arrested following a police pursuit on Friday in Fishersville that left the driver and a passenger injured.

Before the pursuit began, a deputy with the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a stolen vehicle in the 400 block of Hermitage Road, according to an ACSO release. The vehicle, a 2007 Chrysler 300 sedan, had been reported stolen from Buena Vista. When the deputy activated their emergency equipment to initiate the traffic stop, the driver sped away, according to ACSO.

The pursuit continued along Hermitage Road, Saint James Road, and then crossed Long Meadow Road. The suspect vehicle proceeded onto Entry School Road, where it crashed and rolled over multiple times, then the driver was ejected from the vehicle, the release said…
