FUEL Charleston closing this month after 15 years on Rutledge Avenue

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A filling station-turned-restaurant in downtown Charleston is closing its doors after more than 15 years of service, its owners announced on social media this week.

FUEL, which has been serving up island-inspired dishes on Rutledge Avenue since 2008, will serve its final customers on Saturday, December 20.

“There’s never an easy or convenient moment to close a restaurant, but we’re ready to turn the page and embrace a new chapter,” a Dec. 9 post on the restaurant’s Facebook page read. “Our hearts are full, and our gratitude is endless — thank you for your loyalty and support through the years.”…
