Hope Hull man convicted in 2022 Montgomery murder

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A Hope Hull man has been convicted in connection to a murder that happened in a Montgomery hotel parking lot in 2022.

Montgomery District Attorney Azzie Oliver announced Wednesday that Crawford Lee Bruce Jr. pleaded guilty to shooting and killing 31-year-old Marion Woodward on West South Boulevard on February 26 of that year.

Oliver said Bruce approached Woodward that day, who was sitting in a parked car in front of the America’s Best Inn. Bruce confronted Woodard about talking to his girlfriend and the two men exchanged words. The argument escalated and turned physical when Bruce pulled out a handgun and shot Woodard in the chest, fatally wounding him.

Bruce will be sentenced at a later date, according to Oliver. Because of previous convictions, he could face life in prison…
